Pediatric urology can provide equal care to both boys and girls up to their early adult age. The most common type of disorders treated includes;

Phimosis : Phimosis is the inability to retract the foreskin behind the head of the penis. This leads to a painful urination and erection. Treatment for the disorder depends upon the age, severity and symptoms of the disorder.

Congenital Hernia/Hydrocele : Hydrocele is the filling up of watery content in one or both the testis causing swelling in the groin area. Congenital Hydrocele is the disorder that a baby is born with. This can occur due to various reasons. Even though the swelling appears scary, this is not a dangerous issue. This disorder will over time go away when the baby reach an age of 2.

Torsion testis : Torsion testis is a painful condition when the cord carrying the blood to the testis gets twisted. This twisting affects the blood flow and testicle tissue die off. This disorder normally affects only one of the testis, but if affected to both, this is termed as Bilateral Torsion.

Undescended testis : Undescended testis is the condition when the testis fails to move inside the scrotum. This is usually affected to any one of the testiticles and therefore cases of the disorder affecting both the testis are very rare. This uncommon issue is found in baby boys who had a premature birth.

Hypospadias : Hypospadias is a condition where the opening of urethra is not at the tip of penis, but is at the underside. This generates the false functioning of the penis in addition to its abnormal look. Pediatric urology provides many surgical approach to fix the issue.

UPJ Obstruction : UPJ obstruction is the condition attained when there is a blockage in the area that connects the renal pelvis to the ureter which moves urine to the bladder. Some of these cases are solved without any surgical approach but others requires the performance of surgery.

PUV : PUV (Posterior Urethral Valves) is an abnormality affecting urethra occurring when there are some splittings in it causing the outflow of urine. This may cause a reverse flow of urine which can damage the urinary tract, urethra, urinary bladder and kidney. Endoscopic valve ablation is the treatment offered to the disorder.

VUR : In normal cases urine flow from kidney to bladder through ureters. Bladder muscles as well as ureters restrict the backflow of urine to the bladder. But in VUR (Vesicoureteral Reflux), a reverse flow i.e. flow of urine from bladder to kidney takes place. This may carry the bacteria present in the urine to the kidney, thereby causing kidney infections and damages. Depending upon the issue, different treatments are provided to the patients.
